You guys! I am so honored that you are here! And, I am super excited that we will be going on this journey together!
I consider my readers like family, and I am confident you will get a lot out of this blog in order to live life in a more substantial way!
After I had my son, I started to really think about the life I lead:
What makes someone happy? Fulfilled? Whole? Do I live a life where I feel free/liberated/passionate?
Have I created a metamorphosis in my life that is authentically ME?
Do I live a life where I help more than I hurt? Who am I really? What makes me tick and speaks to my heart?
Do I live a life I can look back on and say,
“YES – I am proud of this life I have lived!”
It was then that I knew I needed to take more steps toward leading A Substantial Life….
Substantial Definition, friends:
of ample or considerable amount; tangible; real; of solid character or quality; basic or essential; of real value, worth, or effect.
We all want this, don’t we?
It is true that in today’s world of endless options, hurried structure, and waaaay too many choices (and let’s face it, utter chaos all around us!) a person can start to feel really inspired to SLOW DOWN and truly take stock.
I realized I wasn’t doing this in my own life; not even close.
What was REALLY important to me?
What did I want my life to look like when I truly zeroed in on what was important to me?
Was it working for someone else? Was it spending more hours with my family? Was it worrying about the little things – or even worse, someone else’s little things? Do I take too much care of others and not enough care of myself? Or, was it something as mindless as buying unhealthy food just because it was quicker and (or so I thought) easier???
I started to think about this: If I was at the end of my life – what life would I truly want to see staring back at me?
Heavy, right???
It was upon pondering this question and really marinating on it for some time that I guess you could say I had my “AHA” moment — and when I looked at the current state of my life, I wasn’t manifesting this ethos.
Are you?
For instance, I’m not sure about you, but I tended to be the type of person who:
- runs before she walks
- buys too much and wastes stuff
- gets stressed and overly emotional
- suffers from chronic health issues
- LOVES cooking but wasn’t utilizing my talents enough because I swear there aren’t enough
hours in my day 🙌 - isn’t as dedicated to self-care as I ought to be
- isn’t tapping into what truly makes me tick
Honestly, friends, the list could go on and on and on. Sound familiar to any of you?
Oh, good…..I am soooo glad I am not alone, here!

And, we are going to achieve it TOGETHER! I started this blog as a way to make myself more accountable for living a life with more personal freedom, joy, and meaning. So, it is still TOTALLY a journey and a process for me….
